Stones

You step on them, you walk past them. Maybe you feel they bring you luck or you use them to build buildings, walls, pillars, dams, bridges. Or you decorate your garden or interior spaces with them. They are the cornerstones of art, sculpture and jewellery.

But whatever happens around them, on them, above them, under them, with them, they do not forget, they endure everything. Silently and patiently. They do not treat anything as a secret. They are in balance within themselves, filling their own boundaries exactly. They look hard as stone, cold and brittle. Yet they preserve so many memories: they not only preserve the traces of history, but also of the future.

The way we treat them, or indeed nature, can create such a ripple effect. It inspires or creates conflict. In the latter case, it can crush you if you do not notice how much discipline you endured, shaped, and developed during your own discoveries.

This wisdom is recognised only by those who sincerely and humbly seek and face the same.
